Love is in the Air!

Welcome back to MonkeeSims. Hope you all had a good weekend. Not feeling incredibly chatty today, so let's just get right to the post material, shall we? There's quite a bit of it anyway, so that's probably a good idea.

Well, it seemed like a pretty normal day around the Wilson place. The family members were all off doing their own thing. The butler was wandering around picking up after everyone, and the maid was walking around doing not much of anything but getting in everyone's way (why there's still a maid when they have a full time butler I haven't quite figured out yet).

Marty and Kitty were hanging out in the upstairs bar, probably because there was less garbage on the floor up there. Marty realized that they'd been dating for quite some time, and that perhaps it was time to take things to the next level (pending Kitty's approval, of course). And so, in a moment of inspiration, Marty broke down and proposed.

Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly), Kitty accepted the proposal, even though Marty didn't have a ring with him at the time. Hey, give him a break...it's not easy for people living in the same house to do a proposal, since for some reason, the game doesn't see fit to have that command in there for "family members". Anyway, Marty did the best that he could under the circumstances. The pair did a little slow dancing to celebrate the engagement.

Image hosting by PhotobucketMarty: "Why not just skip the long engagement and get to the wedding part?"

Well, per Marty's suggestion, the couple decided to get married right away. After all, when a sim from outside the family accepts a proposal, the marriage is instantaneous, and Marty and Kitty didn't see why they should have to be any different.

Unlike the other weddings that have taken place since the beginning of MonkeeSims, Kitty wasn't content to have a small, inconspicuous ceremony. Before you could say, "I do", she was spending money left and right on expensive decorations for the wedding, which was her call, since she was making most of the money. By the time she was done, there was quite an elaborate setup for the ceremony in the last remaining open space on the Wilson property.

Image hosting by PhotobucketThis wedding has everything...except for the non-family guests who were invited.

Since he had long ago gotten his internet minister credentials, J.D. was assigned to do the ceremony. Kevin was given the role of Marty's best man, and Kammy was Kitty's maid of honor. Had she not been at school, Mia Kay probably would have been the flower girl, but that role went unfilled. The only person who didn't serve as part of the wedding party was Julie, but she did serve the important role of "guest" since there were no others. There were some invited, but they didn't seem to get the point of the whole affair, and couldn't be made to sit down for the ceremony.

Image hosting by PhotobucketKevin's not just the "best man" at this wedding...he's the only man (aside from the groom, of course).

Eventually, the ceremony ended, and the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife. At this point, Matt, who'd been wandering around in the house since being invited, came out and got jealous for some reason. He was on his way to go slap Marty for kissing Kitty, but when I cancelled the action, he got mad and left. I don't think he quite got the point of the whole wedding thing anyway.

Image hosting by PhotobucketKammy: "That @#$% Kevin better propose soon...!"

Well, eventually the ceremony ended, and it was time to hit the cake. Marty and Kitty were the first to go after it, and quickly went their separate ways. It's a little early in the marriage for that, isn't it guys? Kevin and Kammy stood back, somewhat apprehensively, as if unsure what to do next.

Image hosting by PhotobucketKevin: "Are we just supposed to help ourselves here or what?"

The family headed inside to eat their cake, and everyone had a grand old time. As his best man "toast", Kevin shared amusing stories of when he and Marty were room mates in college. Marty was a little less than amused initially, but then he remembered that he was married, and Kitty probably wasn't going to dump him for being a moron in college. She certainly didn't marry him for his money.

Image hosting by PhotobucketKevin: "...and then there was that time that Marty ate too many hot dogs and rode the Tilt-A-Whirl..."

Later, things headed upstairs to party central, where the real post-wedding party took place. Kitty lead off with a little ballad to her new husband, who stood by looking a little unsure of himself. Even he has to admit that this is much better so far than his 30th birthday party was.

Image hosting by PhotobucketMarty: "I'm not supposed to sing a song to her next, am I?"

Next, the couple hit the dance floor, while Julie did a little singing of her own. This seems only fitting, since Kitty did the same for Julie at her and J.D.'s much less elaborate wedding celebration.

Image hosting by PhotobucketMaybe Julie should consider making a career out of this "wedding singer" thing.

Apparently Julie's romantic ballad was more than Marty could take. Moments later, he swept Kitty off her feet and gave her a fiery kiss. Who would have taken Marty for a hopeless romantic? Hopeless, maybe, but romantic...well, we never knew...

Image hosting by PhotobucketOkay, guys...take it somewhere else, eh?

After all the performances were over (including Marty's PDA right in the middle of the dance floor), Marty went to thank Julie for her wedding ballad. Well, this went straight to her head, and she proceeded to start primping in response. Some people are just so full of themselves.

Image hosting by PhotobucketMarty: "Careful there, Julie, or your head won't fit out the door!"

Well, that was that! The wedding and reception ended, and everyone went back to a more or less normal life. For the moment, everyone was getting along happily, which is a lot less common than you might think. Let's take a look at the happy couples!

Image hosting by PhotobucketJulie: "I just love J.D.'s do-rag!"

Image hosting by PhotobucketMarty: "No, I still haven't seen your movie yet...I'm waiting for it to come out on video."

Image hosting by PhotobucketKevin: "We really need more excuses to party around here!"

And of course, we can't forget about Mia Kay. She may not have made it to the wedding, and she may live in a neighborhood that doesn't have any other children in it at all, but she's got the best parents in the world! She and J.D. love to chat about stuff.

Image hosting by PhotobucketWhat young child doesn't love talking about algebraic equations?

And of course, Julie's a great mother. She's always kind, caring, affectionate, and carries a large supply of "gifts" on her at all times. Here, we see her giving Mia Kay a nice pink elephant that she was apparently carrying around in her pocket.

Image hosting by PhotobucketMia Kay: "I think I'll name him Alfred!"

Whew! Well, that's about it for today! That's your "feel good" post for the day, just in time for Valentine's day tomorrow. Yeah, I know, this post was a little on the sentimental side, but since when is that always a bad thing? Enjoy it while you can...there's more weirdness on the way when we pick up next time!
